Work placement at Milky Tea followed by a job offer

How long have you worked in the advertising business?
Just over 2 years

What style of advertising do you do?
CGI – 3D and 2D stills and animations

Do you have much creative freedom?
Varies, but most of the time we work for an advertising agency and they are the creative lead.

How much is an average advertisement cost?
Woah, really tough to answer – depends whether it’s online/interactive/animation/press/print there are copyright implications, depends on the size ie HD/billboard etc etc


What is the general time period you have to work to?
Always tight deadlines, but varies a lot. Again, depends if you’re talking still/animation as well as many other factors.

How do you see advertisements developing in the future?
More CGI, more immersive and interactive and cross platform campaigns.
Do you feel an increasing need to use animation in advertising today?
I don’t think this applies to us as we’re an animation studio!

Do you think animation in advertising is helpful?
It totally depends what the message is; who you’re targeting, how you’re targeting, what your budget is, how it aligns with the rest of your campaign – are you going to develop a character on TVC that can then be used across merchandising, for example. Can’t answer this without an example.
